Overnight Desert Excursion with Camel Ride and Desert Camp from Fez ( 1 Night 2 Days)
Day 1: Fez – Ifrane – Midelt - Rissani - Erfoud - Merzouga - Erg Chebbi
You will depart from Fez towards a small town named Ifrane located in the Middle Atlas which is like “Switzerland of Africa”. Ifrane is about 1665 meters in elevation. In Berber language, it means caves.
During the day, you will enjoy the beautiful green oak, ceder forests and Berber village along the route. As you cross the Atlas Mountains and begin to approach towards to Sahara Desert. Half way, you will stop for lunch in the town of Midelt then you will continue towards to Rissani which is next to Erfoud which is famous by its fossils and rocks and an oasis town in the Sahara Desert. You will change to 4x4 vehicle to drive into the desert.
Then arrive in Merzouga where you will experience the fun ride on camels across the sandy dunes of Erg Chebbi while watching the sun set before the darkness. You arrive at your desert Berber camp in the middle of nowhere and in the heart of the Saharan desert. This experience in the Moroccan desert will be a very special highlight of your trip.
Dinner and overnight in the traditonal Berber tents.
Day 2: Merzouga -Tafilalte - Ziz Oasis – Fez
Wake up early to catch the sun rise before the breakfast, take a walk over the sand dunes, you will ride camel back to the hotel where you will fresher up and have breakfast. Then take 4x4 vehicle back to Rissani from there you will go back to Fez along the way, you will stop for lunch. you will reach Fez in the late afternoon.
